Tiffany and Co Ad Campaign

I fabricated these butterflies for Tiffany and Co, which were then animated for this ad campaign in February 2020. These are small cabbage white butterflies (about 30mm) that I pigmented to their signature “Tiffany Blue”. I used a combination of both traditional and experimental preparation techniques to stabilize the specimens and apply the color. Since their color is trademarked, I mixed it as close as possible as advised by their production team. It was important to give the client a something that could withstand the rigors of a photoshoot, convey the fantasy, and not look artificial. I was delighted at the opportunity to preserve such humble creatures and bring the wonder of natural history to a luxury brand.
